I have a client that found a lot near Asheville in the Creston Eco-Development. They are going to be drilling a well, depth unknown at this point, and they are skeptical about using PVC for the well casing. Aside from steel (stainless or galvanized) are there any other options that anyone has heard about? A quick google check does not really bring anything up.   Thanks!

I think I read an advertisement in a magazing recently about this but it's at my office.  I'll check it out and let you know.  I remember because the company has some off the wall name that caught my eye.  I'll try to find it.  I looked and don't have it here.  :( Sorry.

Thanks Stephanie. I am also suggesting they consider some high quality water filters as a possible alternative to expensive casing material.

Hey Bill, that's not a bad idea.  Some sort of triple filtration system would be great!  The water tastes awesome too.  I'll try to make it up to the office tomorrow.

Thanks Mary. I have not heard of many other options for this probably because of the cost, but I could be wrong.

Bill - I did some searches last night also. you're right! not much out there!

From Chris Hall with Green Life Homes:

I've got a good civil/development engineer who is big into Low Impact
Development (LID). Let me check with him.

Chris is an awesome resource. Until recently he was the director of Greenbuilt Michigan so he knows a lot of folks!  I'll let you know if we hear something.
