A story on the news last night talked about the rising price of gas. The reporter was interviewing people at gas pumps who were having to choose between driving to work and eating. There is not always public transportation available to every locatioin or affordable housing in the area where people work. The increase in gas prices influences that only the prices we pay for things....but for some people, very difficult choices.
There may be people that you know....or know of...or contractors and service people that have been faithful in the services that they provide you at a reasonable price. The cleaning lady that drives her crew a half hour, the college student that gets the yard ready for the summer season. Maybe you have other people that are dependent on the employment you offer them...lawn cutting, painting or handy person kind of jobs around the house.
Today, I am going to get gas cards and make that part of what we pay for the services that have rendered to us over the years. Without a gas card, they are taking a large pay cut that they don't deserve.
Think about the people in your life that are the hardest hit by the gas crisis....and if you feel that their pride might be hurt...find a way to slip it on the front seat of the car, pop it into their mailbox...you can do it. You can do the right thing that makes their life a little easier...makes you feel good...and allows them to continue to provide services without increasing their overhead.
Pay it forward...a gallon or two at a time....your thoughtfulness will be appreciated by the people who need it most and who have helped you with the services they provide.
