Blimey their Blooming

It's that time of year again in Southern Utah and the cacti are Blooming out their Buds! What a spectacular sight to behold, thanks to Mother Nature.  This variety of cactus blooms just twice a year and the flowers last only a day or so and I was lucky to catch a glimpse of the dinner plate size flowers!

The colors of the blooms come in pink, orange, white and yellow and as you can see, they are very vibrant. I was able to get a few shots of the white ones and a pink one. They're  Blooming out their Buds everywhere here in southern Utah!

Howdy and afternoon to you Wanda

Wanda,
you sure did take some mighty fine looking photos. Cactus blooms sure are mighty fine to look at, and you sure do have to be at the right place at the right time to enjoy most of them.

Have a good one

I have heard the desert is great if you catch the Cactus in bloom.  I have never caught it.

Love the first shot with the mountains and big blue sky in the background. I haven't seen too much yet here in Las Vegas; hope I haven't missed them!

Great pictures Wanda.  Nice to see what's happening in other parts of the country as we don't have very many cactus around these parts.
