Easter Sunrise Services in Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach NC
One of my earliest Easter memories isn't a basket full of candy, or a new outfit. It's sunrise services on a knoll in the cemetary next to the church. I remember waking before the sun was up, dressing in my finery and riding to the services with my step-mother. It may have been Spring, but it was always freezing; though I wouldn't admit that -- didn't want to cover up my new Easter outfit with an icky old winter coat! Easter Sunrise Services have always been very special to me. There's just something so reverent about hearing the story of the Resurrection read from the King James Version of the Bible and singing hymns as the sun rises. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.
