How I loved that song as a child! I loved hunting for eggs when I was little, still do! Also I had the same dark green Easter basket for seven years! Once we got one, that was it...no getting a new one every year like some children do these days.
Well Thursday night was egg dying night at my home. This is a tradition I insist for our children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
This year I invited some of my daughters friends because I consider them my kids too. Imagine how shocked I was to find out that some of them had never colored an egg before! Well I remedied that!
Some of you may not know that some of the traditions we celebrate are pagan. The Easter Egg is one of them. The pagans use to give as a symbol of the rebirth of the Earth. The Christians adopted this idea as a symbol of the Resurrection of Jesus.
These days we use plastic eggs and fill them with candy to had out to children. I like these too but prefer the fun of dying eggs.
Here are some of the pictgures I took.
Jesika, Raegan next door, and Rachel
Heather and Jesika and an island full of eggs to color!
I think Jerimiah on the left was concerned that newbie on the right was not doing it right!
Even my sister in law colored an egg.... that is my law everyone must color at least on egg!
Isn't my sister in law Pam pretty! She loves dying eggs too!
The kids started writing stuff about each other on the eggs in wax...to bad no one can spell in this family!
I hope everyone reading this has a wonderful Easter...
