Family Time
One of the nice things about the holidays is that we get to see family members we don't normally see. This week, celebrating Passover with Herb's family, we visited with our extended family, seeing not only my stepdaughter and her family, but her in-laws.
Tomorrow, we'll go to my sister Sue's house for Easter dinner. Our other sister Kate will join us, and my brother-in-law's brother will also be there. It's been quite a while since we've seen him, and it's always fun to catch up.
This year, dinner will be pot roast. Since Sue is a truly gifted cook, everything will be delicious. Herb and I will bring some wine and a cherry pie. We'll eat, talk, laugh, and connect. There will inevitably be some time spent groaning at having eaten a bit too much. If it's nice, we'll all take a little walk around the neighborhood to help our food settle.
There's something so comforting about settling in to the family circle for the afternoon. It feels so good to reconnect and talk about the things that are near and dear to our hearts.
What will Easter Sunday be like for you this year? I wish you a beautiful day, whatever your plans are.
