It’s Saturday. Two dozen eggs waiting to be painted old school, with onion skins, by our ten year-old remind me that tomorrow is Easter. Not being a religious sort, for me, Easter has always been the beginning of Spring. There is shiny new-ness to the brand new leaves on my few garden dwellers. There are bugs of all kinds climbing out of the ground and making babies. The whippoorwills sing louder than they did just a week ago, and my giant live oak tree in the front yard has been hosting more and more bright red cardinals as the days go by.

Spring or not, that’s how I feel, and with that comes renewal. For us at this little outfit renewal is all about making new stuff, and making some old stuff better. Finding better systems, coming up with better ideas, and hopefully, getting our creative hands rather dirty in this quest for making stuff that works. There is optimism in doing the work. And optimism seems to be a rare commodity these days for far too many.
But it’s easier to get back a bit o that optimism with the world full of bird song and color, and buzzing with life. So this Easter - make something. Make a part of your world better, shinier, newer. A paper airplane, a painted egg, or a new business venture, nothing is impossible. All require optimism and a bit of faith in ourselves. And fresh air of Spring certainly helps.

I find that it's much easier to have an optimistic outlook at this time of the year too. There's a lot more energy in the air, and I have to get busy and take advantage of my new burst of wind.
Beautiful post and you are right! Spring is the perfect time to try new things :)!
Inna, I love this post, as I think you and I are of the same cloth in a way. Thank you for being you, have a Happy Easter. Now I'm off to make something shinier :)
Inna, very nicely said! This time of year just seems to naturally blend with fresh starts and renewal of all kinds. Hope you're enjoying a beautiful weekend!
Lovely Inna. It's always nice to feel a fresh start coming on! Happy Spring.
Inna - you may not be a religious sort, but concepts of redemption and renewal are universal concepts and very much a part of all cultures in the spring. So you, hubby and kidlet have my best wishes for the spring and following seasons. (I enjoyed The King's Speech too - but I like the Hornblower movies too, so what do I know)
Beautiful photo Inna, I love spring, everything feels so fresh and alive...great post
