After so much snow during the winter months and wet weather in general, it was great to get a nice day to simply go out and enjoy seeing the sun….I managed to escape to the Rockefeller Preserve around 4 PM for a late afternoon walk. Although the spring has been late – I was determined to get some pictures that show spring is here….The peonies from the Peonies monument in honor of the victims of 9/11/2oo1 are starting to bud. Soon they will be in full bloom, but in the meantime you can see the buds on the left. The Cherry blossoms were in full bloom – so I was able to get a colorful shot.
The wildlife were sunning themselves. Even the waterfowl were having a great time in the sun. I ran into some rather photogenic Mallards as well as a Cormorant – all willing to pose for me! The turtles never moved. I don’t think they knew I was there to be totally honest…
The wild life provided me with more material. They were out enjoying the day just like me and they didn’t seem to object to the camera. The must have known I was lurking – but they were very polite and allowed me to do my thing. Apparently they don’t mind being shot – as long as its with a camera and not a gun.
