Chris, Misunderstandings happen and are better rectified quickly and calmly if possible. If the other side isn't willing, then it is ok for them to think they heard what you didn't mean. Know what I mean?!

That is a lot of words to say "you didn't get it" ! Agreed -  interesting! Happy Monday!

Chris, some one recently referred to me as the quote master and that is because I love quotes.  When I read a quote such as the one by Robert McCloskey I get several meanings which is half the fun of being the quote master... =)

I would hate for that guy to have to explain some of the real estate forms!! It may take a whole page of writing!! LOL and then still be only clear as mud!

Chris, i try to step back and think for a moment about the situation and what it might have sounded like I (or they) said.  I sometimes slip up though, I'll admit!

When that happens all I can think is that our brains are working faster than our mouths!

Remember the song that went something like "I was looking back to see if you were looking back to see if I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me?"

Chris, been there done that and it can be very frustrating! I always think who am I talking to and how familiar are they with the topic. When some tech guy (like my husband) talks to me about what's wrong with my computer all I hear is your computer, blah, blah, blah - I'm like, dumb it down buddy - lol!

Chris, Great quote.  I often realize people get hung up on the first thing they think they hear and often people's minds do not want to listen beyond that.  Even paraphrasing what was just spoken does not help.  But it is worth sorting it out and being patient in the process to get to common ground.

This quote makes me think of a quote by Winston Churchill - "It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma".

Chris ~ that quote was so confusing, I had to read it several times before I think I understood what it said!  HA!  I do agree, it is a wonderful quote....but too confusing for me to remember it.
