"I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant..."
-Robert McCloskey
You know, I am not really sure who this Robert McCloskey is, but it was an interesting quote.
Makes you think of the last disagreement you had with another agent, client, etc... And you knew you were right... But for some reason, they continued to think you were wrong... Then when the finally got what you were saying, it was what you were saying the whole time.
So the thought I had, was to slow down and think about what it is you are going to explain/say BEFORE you open your mouth if it is complicated. It can help go a long way! Even though you might think you said it clear, it might have been as clear as mud. It can help get the question marks off of their faces!
Happy Monday!
