ActiveRain turns 6 months old today

It's official, today is the ActiveRain Real Estate Network's six month anniversary. We launched the network way back on May 26th, 2006. Back then we were barely more that a glorifiied real estate directory with basic scoring system. There was no bloging, forums or community. It's been pretty amazing how far things have progressed in only 6 months.

We currently have 9,718 registered members, falling just shy of hitting 10k within 6 months.
There has been over 22k blog posts made on ActiveRain and blogging wasn't even launched until end of June.
We've registered 350k visits to ActiveRain.com and just over 10 million page views, almost all coming in the last 3 months.
We've received dozens on mentions of high profile industry web sites including Inman.com and Realtor.org and hundreds if not thousands of mentions by real estate bloggers and local newspapers.

It's been pretty impressive to watch and be a part of, but we are just getting started. We are on the verge of launching ActiveRain Groups, as well as our first consumer targetted site to drive more traffic to our members. Both of these additions will allow the community to keep growing and push ActiveRain into the mainstream. So if you haven't yet, hop on board we've still got a long way to go.

Brian: 10k users is nothing, we've held off on kicking in some of our initiatives to really grow ActiveRain until we have the infrastructure in place to support us. The growth was SO rapid we were almost caught by suprise and haven't had as much time to get all the pieces in place we need to really expand yet.

My original planning was for 3,000 members at six months.

Congrats to you and your team! I had never blogged anything before in my life until one month ago when I joined AR. Because of my infatuation with this business, I couldn't resist when asked to join. This stuff just amazes me! Guess I'm addicted (my wife thinks so anyway).

I've contacted AR 3 times about different things with no response. Have people been on vacation that answer these? How long does it usually take for a response?

Russ: We're basically working on a sister site to ActiveRain that will put a much more consumer friendly face and navigation on the content. We're also working on ways to create interactions between buyers/sellers and the community of real estate professionals we have here at ActiveRain.
