From Fayetteville to Harrison, Siloam Springs, Rogers, Bentonville, ...goodness, the whole Northwest to North Central Arkansas has been hit by more rain than I've ever seen.

How has this effected Real Estate?  Not much.  The flood plains have recently been remapped, so all the areas that flooded were actually IN the flood plain and required flood insurance.  Of course, this doesn't make it any easier for the folks that were in the flood plain, but at least they knew they were in a home that required insurance.

Very few homes experienced heavy to moderate damage.  My heart goes out to anyone who had to endure this.  It was a pretty scary time!

The long and short of it is, if you are considering purchasing a home at this time in Northwest Arkansas...do your homework on its elevation.  It doesn't hurt to know, but don't let the rains scare you away from the market.  It's a great time to buy here, and the vast majority of the market was left completely unharmed.
