You’ve heard us mention HootSuite before, but you’ve never heard us say exactly how much we rely on this social networking service to maintain our clients’ social networking presences. HootSuite is a service that you can use for free that not only allows you to maintain all of your social networking sites in one place, but also allows you to keep track of what you post where, your social networking analytics, and your Twitter lists. In other words, you can use HootSuite to do just about everything you need to for social networking, without jumping from site to site! Here are some of our favorite features about HootSuite, and why we recommend it:
It’s FREE, and user-friendly! The free version of HootSuite has just about everything you need. For no cost, you can create an account, add up to five of your social networking profiles to the dashboard, and get your social networking insights for Twitter for free! That’s an unbeatable service for everyone who desires to populate multiple social networking sites. The sign-up process is also very simple. All you need to provide is your name, email address, and a password, and you’re good to go. They make it easy for you to figure out how to add your social networking sites to the dashboard, and from there, it’s clear to see where you post, how you save drafts of posts and schedule them out, and how you select which posts go to which sites. They couldn’t make it any easier for their users, which is great for people who aren’t incredibly tech-savvy.
You can maintain all of your social networking sites in one place. The free version of HootSuite allows you to add five social media profiles to the dashboard. After you add each site, a tab will come up at the top of the screen letting you know that the account was added. Each tab is clearly labeled “Twitter”, “Facebook Pages”, “Facebook”, or “LinkedIn”, making it easy for you to know which social networking site is where within HootSuite. The tabs make it easy for you to click from profile to profile and monitor your Facebook wall, direct mentions on Twitter, pending posts and tweets, and sent posts. At the very top of the page, you will also see your profile picture for each account with the icon of the social networking site on it. These are there so that whenever you choose to post to one of your social networking sites, or to all of them at once, you can click the picture for the appropriate site that you would like to post to. If you want to post the same thing on multiple Twitter accounts, for example, you can click the icons for each Twitter account, and when you see the check marks on each picture, you can click “send now” knowing that the tweet will show up on both accounts. This feature is fantastic because you can post for all of your social networking sites in one place, using an easy-to-use dashboard. You’re not constantly having to log in and out of each site in order to update your profiles. Instead, you can just do it in once place, which will save you time.
You can schedule your posts for the entire day. The number one reason that we use HootSuite is because you have the ability to schedule posts for the entire day. For Facebook, this isn’t ideal, because you don’t necessarily want to post to your wall multiple times, but for Twitter, this is perfect. You can create all of your tweets for the day at once, and using HootSuite’s scheduling feature, schedule them to go out whenever you would like throughout the day, or even throughout the week! This way, you don’t have to log-in to Twitter multiple times per day to update. Instead, you can spend 15-20 minutes scheduling your tweets in HootSuite and go on with the rest of your day without a worry. You can look at your Twitter account that night knowing that your tweets posted to your profile throughout the day.
You can manage your Twitter lists in HootSuite! For those of you who separate your Twitter into lists of leads, clients, coaches, and competitors, you can easily keep track of each one right within HootSuite. When you go to the “Contacts” section on the dashboard, you simply select the Twitter account that you want to monitor the lists for, and a list of all of your followers shows up! On the sidebar, you simply select which list you would like to monitor and you’ll see a complete list of each Twitter user you have on that list. You can easily add and remove users from all of your Twitter lists right within HootSuite, which makes it easier for you to keep track of who you’re following on Twitter. You can see how many followers each person on your list has, and their Klout score, a 1-100 number which shows their influence in the Twittersphere. This is just one more way to keep your Twitter account organized, because it can be difficult to keep track of everyone you follow!
You can view your Twitter analytics for free. Part of measuring your success on both Facebook and Twitter is looking at analytics for both accounts. Looking at the numbers and graphs allows you to assess what you’re doing that’s working and what you need to do better. You can access these helpful reports right in HootSuite! When you go to the analytics section, you have the option to create reports showing the analytics for your Twitter account. If you upgrade to the paid version of HootSuite, you can also access your Facebook Insights and Google analytics reports. This feature makes it that much easier to view the success of all of your social media campaigns in one place, and to assess which sites are doing better than others.
With all of these benefits and great services that HootSuite provides, you can see why the virtual assistant team at RealSupport uses it to post for their social networking clients, particularly for Twitter. It helps you keep your social networking sites organized, and it gives you the chance to maintain all of your sites in once place, without logging in and navigating each one separately. It’s a key service for every agent who wants to take their social networking to the next level. The best part is that that your real estate virtual assistants can help you set up your HootSuite account, add all of your sites for you, and then use it to maintain your social networking presence. It’s just one more service that makes your marketing efforts easier.
Make it a great day!
