Butterflies: On tatted lace that flits about!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Richard Weisser Realty

Butterfly in the Conservatory! On tatted lace that flits about
O’er bloom and bud and petaled bough,
As feathers drift on currents blown
‘Til nectar’s sweet scent pulls them down!
                           (R, Weisser 2011)

So many analogies are based on the butterfly and it’s metamorphosis from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis and finally to a beautiful albeit short-lived butterfly that it is hard to add anything new.

But it isn’t always necessary to seek additional meaning or insight from the wonders of nature.

Often the relavancy of the image just speaks for itself.

And sometimes it is just fine to observe and enjoy

I remember in an art appreciation class that the instructor took great pride in revealing his insights to the meaning behind a painting.  I thought about the masterpiece...  I just think I'll enjoy it for the beauty and how it touches me and not spoil that moment with an in depth analysis.  Love that you hit the nail on the head with your post!  Love the photos too!

Nice pictures. You are right - sometimes it is best to enjoy nature. Last weekend I sat and watched a couple of hummingbirds attacking the feeder....amazing creatures!

Good morning Richard...lovely pictures.  My second generation daughter Daesha (10) has just gotten a Caterpillar keeper. She's collecting them and feeding them in hopes that when they become butterflies she'll be able to enjoy their beauty and the release them.

Beautiful photos, these little creatures are so amazing from start to finish.  I agree on just observing nature at times without reading anything into anything.  Just enjoying the bounties that are given to us.  Thank you for such a good post.
