What a Shot! - Spurs Are Still Alive!

If you were at the AT & T center last night when Gary Neal hit that final shot to send the game into overtime, you probably lost your hearing. It’s loud enough in their house already, but I am certain that they exceeded the allowable limits.

Gary Neal's Shot

They say that true Champions do not fall easy, and the Spurs are BACK! Wake up Elvis! The Silver and Black will be back in Memphis Friday night for a chance to force a game seven and a return to the home of your Four Time NBA Champions, the San Antonio Spurs.

That shot by Gary Neal brings back memories during the David Robinson era when Jean Elliott hit that Memorial Dooms Day shot that saved the Spurs then. This one is in the record books now, and we are looking forward to game Six on Friday night in Memphis.

Jerry, I hope they can keep on going!  Hate to see them go out in the first round, was actually hoping to see them hoist the trophy at the end of the playoffs!

Hi Bill and Liz, It's one game at a time now. Let's see if they can take one in Memphis Friday night, and push for that game 7 first. I was hoping too, but I am not sure they have the talent or youth to make past OKC or Memphis.

Yes, Rita, I am a die heart Spurs Fan. I go way back to the George Gervin years when they didn't know anything about defense. It was all about out scoring your opponents during the Doug Moe era with Gervin.

Hi Barbara, I agree with you about the Celtics, but I am not sure who will come out of the West. We have some younger teams this year, very capable of beating those Lakers.

Jerry.  That must have been a crazy time.  We had some Nugget fever here last week until they lost by 3 points which ended the season for them.

Hi Belinda, Yes, it was crazy at the AT & T center on Wednesday night. Your Nuggets are a young team and losing Carmelo didn't seem to hurt them that much. I am sure they will be better next year. The West keeps getting younger and younger, and more competitive.

Ah Jerry....I feel for you! I thought that we'd never see the Spurs in the Western Finals, but thought they'd beat Memphis easily. Killer...that long hard season, best record....and out. I know you think I'm gloating (trying not to...really) but I seriously do feel for you.

Hi Karen, Memphis totally out played my Spurs. I think everyone knew that Memphis would be a tough match up for us because of Zack Randolph and Mark Gasol. NBA is quickly becoming a young man's league.

Are your Lakers ready for those Dalllas Mavericks?
