Boxing promoter Don King has never been one to embrace moderation. From the over-the-top boxing match-ups to the stand-up straight hair, it's no surprise that King has a double mansion estate in Florida.
The beachfront combination of King's exclusive Manalapan real estate twin-set is priced at $19,995,000. The median list price of Manalapan has taken a major hit in the past few years. Currently, the median is $4,950,000, but as recently as January 2010, it was $10.5 million.
According to ShelterPop, one lot was developed in 1985 and the other followed in 1994, to create the ultimate, spacious Florida beach estate. The two-lot digs are bordered by the ocean on one side and the lake on the other, located high on dunes, offering an "idyllic vantage point."
According to the property listing, the site contains 9 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and a whopping 17,726 sq ft on a 1.38-acre site.
Both homes are Spanish-style stucco estates decked out in marble, granite and other luxurious accents. One of the homes' foyers features a huge chandelier, marble statues and carved pillars. A dining room has two giant chandeliers as well as a row of gold-plated chairs.
The home's grounds include tennis courts flocked by Grecian-style statues, pools and covered patios.
Although King bills himself as a "world-renowned boxing promoter" having negotiated famous fights including heavy hitters like Muhammad Ali and George Foreman, as well the rise of Mike Tyson, he is no stranger to controversy. Over the span of his promoting career he has been the subject of several lawsuits regarding fraud, in particular one from Tyson that claimed King cheated him out of millions.
