Prescription Drug National "Take Back" Initiative
Saturday, April 30, 2011
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Prescription drug abuse is the fastest-growing drug problem in America. Over the past five years, emergency room visits involving the abuse of pharmaceuticals have doubled. Those who abuse prescription drugs report they most often obtain the drugs through family or friends, including from home medicine cabinets.
In an effort to address this problem, the Drug Enforcement Agency, in conjunction with state and local law enforcement agencies throughout the United States, will conduct the Second National Prescription Drug "Take-Back" Day on Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. We invite you to take part in this event to benefit our country's public health and safety, as well as the environment. This is a great opportunity to safely and responsibly dispose of accumulated expired, unneeded, or unused prescription drugs.
The health and well-being of agency employees is our top priority. Therefore, we encourage you to please participate and to invite your friends, family, and neighbors to take part in the National Prescription Drug "Take Back" Day on April 30, 2011.
