The importance of customer service

Many agents get bogged down and tired in the line of duty due to the constant management of details for their clients, and there is no good reason for this.  We all have to constantly remind ourselves that we are in a customer service business, and the only thing we really have to offer is, our expertise and time as it applies to providing "Top Notch" customer service.  Of course there are a lot of details which need to be constantly managed, and in many cases we end up doing work and managing things that are legitimately someone else's job.  Taking the initiative to operate on this level will not only help you with closings, but it will also make you shine to your clients.  At any time someone who is charged with managing a different aspect of the transaction falls short, we HAVE to step up for our clients, and sometimes we actually have to push the deal for our clients.  Make you clients aware of the extra mile you are going without being boastful, they will in most cases be very open about their appreciation for the fact that you have gone above and beyond for them.  Even in situations where they are not openly appreciative, they do still appreciate it and most times this aspect of their persona is simply overshadowed by their own personal stresses whether those stresses are related to the transaction or not.  Stay focused, stay on track and work as hard as you can to provide exemplary customer service, it will pay off in the end with much more than just the initial monetary value of your commission check.  Always remember that we are in a relationship business which is customer service driven, and how you manage your relationships is the single most important factor in how that relationship develops.  Your clients will appreciate this very much and the effect on your business will eventually translate into exponential growth!
