Not So Handy Chuck

I am trying to do some handyman work around the home so my wife stops nagging me! One of the elements went out on the water heater a couple weeks ago so the water goes cold fast and yet I have not changed it...so she is really not nagging just misjudging my handyman ability.

Today I am trying to tackle this project but it looks like I don't have the right tools in the tool box.  So I am taking a break to refocus my plans.

We also have our hood fan light out. That's easy but I got the wrong light when I went to the store.  The light I got works well for nightlights and since my son needed one I am not holding this move against me.  I also have to cut some carpet today.

None of these are in my wheel house and now I am under pressure to get this all done. Don't hold your breath!

This is why all three homes I have ever bought have been new homes, because I am not handy around the home. The heating element going out is the worst repair I have ever had to deal with.  Keep this in mind when you find a buyer that wants to have a perfect home or newer home. They might be like me...

Chuck, some people are good at being handy and others aren't.  Maybe you should save yourself some trouble and just call a real handy man?

It has been interesting...I have a client who keeps looking at handy man special homes...they are cheap....but they are so busy with having 3 kids and work...that i don't think that he would ever have time to finish up all that needs to be done!    LOL  We finally found a home that had been flipped and he is so grateful and excited!  it was more money but in the long run I do believe he will save money...and less nagging from his wife!  LOL

How's the fishing in Elk River? You may need to check out the trout.  The water heater can wait. Don't pay attention to the wife's nagging.  It will soon stop when she leaves.

Good luck with the handyman business!

My husband is handy but has tired of it. Our last home was new construction.

Bringing you home...

Laughing Chuck! I've tried really hard to leave the handy-stuff at rest, but I'm realizing that sometimes the need to nag is there because it will get accomplished no other way.... I say hire someone.

LOL.  Chuck, you sound like you just broke a finger nail.

Seriously,  If you didn't grow up doing a lot of repair work with a parent or other adult, it can be a real challange to learn on your own.   I am lucky that way.  Other than heavy duty wiring and large plumbing, I am able to do most everything myself.

But, I dion't always have time.
