I realize that most people would not be comfortable living on a farm or ranch. In this photo-blog, I thought I'd share some spring pictures of life on a farm. These pictures were taken at Carol Watt's house, where she lives off the grid at the Royal Gorge Canyon. It is Colorado's version of the Grand Canyon. Carol and her husband give the people the opportunity to tour the area on mules. Her house may not have electricity, running water, or indoor plumbing. Yet, they get so much pleasure from their animals.
This is a three day old mule foal nursing.
One of two resident cats.
A fat pony....just what every little kid needs. Actually this one was a large miniature horse.
Even the geese liked to be held and carried around. This particular goose was really spoiled.
And, then there were the goats.... They were very curious. It was hard to photograph them because they kept wanting to walk up closer.
Even the Longhorn was Loved! Granted, it is very uncommon to see a longhorn saddled and ridden. This steer is a big pet.
So...in conclusion. I hope you enjoyed the pictures. If you would like to purchase land for your own farm or ranch, don't hesitate to give me a call.
If you get the opportunity to visit the Royal Gorge Canyon, which is just outside of Colorado Springs....be sure to make plans to see it on the back of a mule. "You can always see what man made from the seat of your car. But you can only see what God made from the back of your mule." Reservations can be made by calling Carole at the Watt Mule Company: 620-855-0236.
