NO BAN ON SEPTIC TANKS IN MARYLAND NEW RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENTS

By
Real Estate Agent with Century 21 New Millennium MD

This is a follow up to my blog  BAN ON SEPTIC TANKS IN MARYLAND WOULD IMPACT ST MARYS COUNTY HOUSING.

Back in February 2011  Governor O'Malley presented a plan to ban septic systems in new residential developments.  Lawmakers chose to shelve this plan at this time.  The concerns were for the negative impact this would have on housing development in rural regions, such as St Mary's County, with little sewer infrastructure.  No changes to the legal requirements presently in force.

Moderrn septic tanks require no infrastructure and workn well and last a long time.

Why would a ban on septics be a good idea, unless you own a sewr piping company.
