23 Comments on INTERNET IS AMAZING: OLD HIGH SCHOOL GIRLFRIEND GOT A HOLD OF ME
Yeah, I'm a "late bloomer" as well. And... it's gettin' later and later. Perhaps I need some Miracle Grow or something... LOL.
Tish...amazing expereince that words cannot cover...I found myself asking a lot of "whys" and so did the other person. You see, now we know what to ask and that is the way it goes.....You know Tish, well you know Tish...
Karen...I am going the other way....I had my fill besides, I am not sure I could handle the excitement. The not eating part and staying up late would kill me right off...LOL Too much Karen
What a great story Richie...I live in the same town I grew up in and see many of my oldest friends, male and female, on a regular basis...I guess I'm fortunate in a way...Enjoy your day.
Ernie...You are fortunate from my point of view because I moved around a lot when I was younger. I made sure none of that for my kids. They all went to the same school system and have lots of life long friends...it is one of the rewards of having been here which is to interact with our like kind in an intimate, decent, and honest way so that we leave each other better for it...thank you Ernie
Interesting article. Something that has most likely happened to a lot of people since the Internet.
James...to be able to go back in time and have knowledge now that you didn't then is the theme for some great Sci-fi and fantasy stories out there today. However, we must remain responsible and good stewards of this ability to do so and preserve its innocence.....Thank you James....
What a hot tamale you are Richie my friend...your wife better put a leash on you considering all the women who want a connection with you...what was then is usually not now i've found...very cute!
Gin Girl
I was the the "lotta" in the enchilada....but I did not know it...Thank God too because that is a big responsibility to have over others...Fast forward to today. I finally figured it all out and BTW, directed this secret knowledge and the energy that comes from it into my next book...Pearls for Girls Dating Waiting & Sex...In seeking Cupid...don't be stupid. Stangely enough my dear Ginny, I think men will want to read this book as much as women...
Ginny...I am thinking you were probably lots of fun as a kid...
Richie, How many first loves are there. Apparently you knew more than your letting on lol
Enjoy the day
Don...they had something I never heard of at my high school one day during my sophomore year called Sadie Hawkins day. On this particular day, any girl in the school can go after any boy without consequences or stigma. My innocence couple with ignorance had me running away all day long from screaming girls in just about every hall way or passage there was. I spent the day in hiding with all my guy friends telling me that so and so is looking for you. Many years later, I found out you were supposed to run toward them, not away....it worked out for all concerned at the time....but remains a smile on my face to this day...
That a very interesting story...and one I think you handled well...I have a close friend that didn't stop with calls and emails and is now going through a divorce...sometimes the internet makes it too easy...
Ahhh...unfinished business getting finished. I understand those dynamics but at what price? Timing is also a consideration too. We are not animals although sometimes I wonder. When a man can enjoy a woman without having to have her, a different love presents itself. In the absence of that, selfishness prevails and is not satisfying in the short or long term for either party...You know Cindy, my modesty, shyness, ignorance and caring-ness spared a lot of young girls from trauma and me from regret and additional repentance...My spirit remains whole and thankful for this. Of the past, I will say this.... We had our time...I am thankful for it..no regrets or looking back for me....Thank you Cindy who is safe in Indy and rules with a gentle hand
Richie - The internet is amazing. I've reconnected with some old friends, but not boyfriends.
Richie, Your post harkens a favorite Garth Brooks song, "Thank God for Unanswered Prayers". I am impressed, but not surprised, that you knew when to hold and when to fold. You remain an example of "man - kind" that rekindles my faith, Thank you.
I am pleased to see you DD...When anything... be it nature, man or beast stands for what it believes ....the Universe takes note and the world is never the same for it.....When people are involved...going the extra mile is assumed...deep and pleasant thoughts your way.....dear lady
Michelle...it can be extremely deeply rewarding, satisfying and beneficial (mine was) when it is pleasant and reciprocal. I am still waiting to hear from my English teacher who suspectted heavily that it was me who left a bottle of scope mouth wash on her desk during class. At first glance, this was funny, but the look on her face and the failure for an English teacher to find words said otherwise....
These same thoughts have been circling around for quite a while - when I was young, I was pretty stupid - and worse yet, i dated all the smart girls. Years went by as I slowly figured out my mistakes. Leaves me wondering if maybe I'll get it right in the next life - certainly not enough time to fix all those errors in this life...
Wouldn't it be great if we had a "do over" button? But then again, we would have to have sense enough to use it!
Fred...#1....There is a blindness that comes from innocence, a sort of what you don't know cant hurt you, that when left to bloom in its own time, gives good "sight" and will come naturally with things making sense. When you are thrust into something before its time, you get the "they know not what they do" factor at work. "Hindsight" is birthed out of that. We want insight which is optimum seeing in the moment. Mankind suffers as a result and as you say correctly..."not enough time to fix all those errors"....
Fred #2...your second comment makes a very good point...Sure, "do over" would correct some issues and at the same time present a new set of errors and not the perfect existence we all seek. We know its there, but it alludes us...
Fred...I asked this young girl some questions that I didn't know at the time. What I found out too was neither did she...a couple of kids that knew nothing about everything and were happy at the time about it too..What a mystery life continues to be...thank you for sharing Fred....good stuff
