Today, May 1, 2011, under sunny blue skies, the 22nd Annual Times Colonist 10K race took place in our beautiful city. Over 12,000 runners started, with 10,205 finishing the course.
The winner, Willy Kimosop of Kenya finished with a time of 30.22, and our own Olympian Simon Whitfield of Victoria, came a close second with a time of 30.25.
What a great way to start off the glorious month of May!

Hi Dave, I had a chance to run a very similar route a few years ago on a trip to Victoria, BC. What a gorgeous spot! I loved the stretch along the waterfront past the Queen's quarters and through terrific neighborhoods. You are so lucky to live in such a fantastic area.
But Steven, where is the photo of you at the finish line?... ;-) Glad the sun was out for the run - it makes such a difference. I believe we had the Vancouver Marathon here yesterday, but I was busy filing my nails, or washing my hair!

Hi Caroline - Your'e right about the stretch along the waterfront - Dallas Road winds around the ocean. And yes, I do count myself very lucky to live in such a beautiful area.

Hi Sally! Sorry, no photo of me at the finishing line - I hosted my Open House instead, and it was pretty good. Shame on you for not joining in your Vancouver Marathon!! Did you get up at 4 am on Friday for the wedding?
