October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is the month to help stamp out Domestic Violence.  This misunderstood problem ranks high in the untimely death of women in the United States.  The perception continues to be that this is a problem in lower income families and "doesn't happen in my neighborhood."  This is completely false.  Domestic partners of both genders and in all walks of life suffer from this silent killer.  Look around you and reach out to a friend that seems to have unexplained bruises or is withdrawing from friends and family.  Make sure they are safe and aware that there is help out there.
