One of the most popular events of the year for the Littleton Historic Museum is just around the corner. Littleton residents and Denverites alike annual flock to the Littleton Historic Museum each year for the Harvest Festival and Pumpkin Sale. I have not been to this event myself in a while, but we are trying to see if we can fit it in our schedule this year.
The Harvest Festival and Pumpkin Sale takes place on Saturday, 10/13 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm rain or shine. This can be a very crowded event and I suggest arriving early, especially if you want the best pumpkin selection.
This fun filled day will be especially fun for the youngsters as everyone sees how a farm was run in the late 1800's for the fall harvest. Visits to all of the historic buildings are coupled with pumpkin sales, cider tasting and other treats. There are also wagon rides and other fun events. The event itself is free of charge but there are costs associated with the refreshments and wagon rides, and of course the pumpkin sale.
If you are new to the Denver area, I highly encourage you to visit the Littleton Historic Museum, if you can not make it for the festival, try another day. It is really a great way to get a glimpse of history in Colorado as you visit the historic farm, school house, houses, and businesses and see what it was once like. My kids have always especially loved all of the animals.
The Littleton Historic Museum is located at 6028 S Gallup Street in Littleton, CO. The museum is closed on Mondays and admission is free, although donations are appreciated.
