How to make free calls via the internet for your real estate business?

If you are looking to save a lot of $$$ on phone bills, this post is for you.  I own my own company, but work out of my home most of the time.  My wife also works with me.  We have no home phone, just our mobile phones.    Theresa started working with me 3 months ago, but our mobile  bill has really gone up.  It was about $175 more then our average over the past few years.  So I decided to look into getting her a voice over ip account for outgoing calls when she wasn't on the go.  Here is the results:

First, you need a high speed internet connection or this won't even work.  Second, make sure you have a high quality USB headset for your pc.  I spent about $100 on a nice Plantronics headset.  It makes a difference on sound quality.

Download Skype, from www.skype.com.  Install on your laptop, or wherever you will have a high speed internet connection.  For now, Skype is free for all outgoing calls to both landlines and mobile phones here in the U.S.  Theresa has been testing this for 2 weeks now, it is working perfectly.  No one can tell she is on a voice over ip phone on her computer.  Plus, she can make outbound calls anywhere she has her laptop and a wireless connection without spending extra on mobile minutes.

Another product I am trying out is located at www.freecall.com   It seems to work well to, but have yet to test it much yet.

Thanks Craig, I'm going to try this and see how it goes.  Cell phone is all I have at home.  Often times making me watch my calls or waiting until 7:00p.m. on ones that I can wait with to save my minutes.  Hope you had a good turkey day!

I love Skype. I don't know how I ever survived without it. My new line is "Skype me".

Two more products, Pamela is enhanced Skype. It gives you voice mail and things like that http://www.pamela-systems.com/. Pamela has a free version, and an upgraded Pro version.

The other one is http://stumbleinside.com/ which allows you to text message someone's cell phone from your computer. GoText is free but there is a PayPal donations button.
