Arizona weekend getaways or vacations continued;

As we continue our Arizona Weekend Adventures; 52 weekend getaways for those new to the Phoenix Metro Area, we are going to take a trip up north to stay overnight (or two) in a cabin.

Summer is approaching and if this is your first summer in the Valley of the Sun, you may want (or need) to take a trip up north on the weekend to get out of the desert heat.  You may want to go even if you have lived here a long time, as the summer heat may be getting to you!

Our summers take a little getting use to here in the Phoenix Metro area!  We have been known to have temperatures as high as 122 degrees.  Yes, that is rare, normally our high temperatures may be in the 110 or a bit higher range, and actually 105 degrees here is really not bad (it is a dry heat you know - I am sure you all have seen some of the "It's a dry heat t-shirts" such as a skeleton on a lounge chair with a cold beverage in hand or a skeleton on a motorcycle patches you can buy!).

We moved here from Illinois for the weather and have loved it ever since!  But we did have the record breaking temperature of 122 degrees one day, which was very hot, and they even shut down the airport as the planes had not been tested at those temperatures!  (Remember everything is air conditioned here so it really isn't that bad!)  But taking a trip up north will give you the reprieve you need from the summer heat, and it is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and get to relax on the weekend!  You will find yourself refreshed and ready for the new week!

Summer isn't the only time to go up north to a cabin.  You may also decide to take a trip in the winter to be able to experience the snow as we don't get snow in the valley, or at least in the very rare times it has snowed it disappears immediately!  So no making snowmen in the winter here unless you bring some back with you from the cabin!  We did this once and our little snowman was the talk of the neighborhood!

There are cabins nearby the ski slopes for those that love to ski, or love to watch other people ski!  Regardless of when you go, the views are wonderful, and slowing down is usually needed at some point for all of us!

Whatever your reason for finding a place to go up north and get away, you will find that there are many cabins to choose from.  Depending on what you want, you will find places that are remote with no one else around (personally I love these quiet retreats) or cabins that have neighbors nearby for those that don't want to be isolated!  Some will have playgrounds for children and trails to take long walks.  Some that won't be far from a nearby town so that you can go in to town for dinner and others that are further away from town and more remote.

You could rent a cabin in Greer, AZ near Christmas and experience Santa's Workshop, ride horses, fish..., or rent a cabin in Prescott, or Creekside Cabin Rentals near Payson to name a few.  There are plenty of places to choose from!

Whatever your choice is, there is a place perfect for you!  Arizona has a very large selection of cabins to rent, it is just a matter of finding the one that is perfect for you with the right amount of amenities that you are looking for!

This is a perfect Arizona Weekend Adventure that you must try!  I know you are going to love it!

Brenda and Ron, Those cabins look very welcoming. I can see why people go to the mountains to get away. I'd love the hiking there!
