Trouble with Conference Calls?

Do you hate setting up conference calls?  It seems like the process is different from one phone system to the next and, if you're anything like me, you probably don't do it often enough to remember the steps without some trial and error.

Conference calls are a "must-do" when dealing with military families or absentee owners because we sometimes have to explain contracts to spouses in different locations.

That was the scenario I faced this morning, when an offer came in on one of my listings.  The sellers offered to set up the conference call on their end, and it turns out they used something called FreeConferenceCall.com.   All I had to do was call and enter the code # they provided.  Both sellers were already on the line, we could all hear each other very clearly, and it was the easiest conference call ever.

The moment I got off the phone, I turned to my computer to check it out.  Sure enough... FREE.   No more trial and error for me...  This works anywhere, on any phone!

P.S.   ...and you can record the call.   Just be sure to tell all participants that you're recording the conversation and get their okay.

That is really good to know, Margaret.  I'm sure it will come in handy one day.  For instance, I can imagine using it for a quick meeting for the officers of one of my Boards.  It would save lots of time.

Margaret, thank you so much for sharing this with us. My assistant and I are often faced with a conference call and we always dread doing it. We will definitely start using Freeconferencecall.com

Margaret,

I just took you name in vain...  Someone blogged about remembering my first post and my first comment received.  You were my very first commenter!

...and I like that idea about recording calls.

Dear Margaret -

So many things save us time and yet here we are - back to the old days of the "party line" telephone!  But now we call it conferenceing and everyone knows who is listening!

Have a happy day -
Lynn

Steven - Me too!

Christ - Be sure to set up the account when you have time, and then save the directions.

Patty - I usually cringe when someone mentions "conference call" - Maybe that's why I found this so easy.

Ellie - I suggest you sign up and get your phone and access numbers before that.

Dorie - It's so easy, I think I'd even pay for the service (but don't tell...)

Billi - There are times when it would be nice... unfortunately, we do have to disclose to the call participants.

Mike - I still remember that post, and I never would have guessed it was your first.  You live in John Wayne country and I live in one of the original 13 colonies - so differnet, yet both are so neat.

Lynn - Now I can't wait to make another conference call.

Joyce - I hadn't heard of it either, before yesterday.

Margaret, thanks for the heads up on this. There is one Dick has been using, but I don't think that it is this one. We will definitely check this out.
