Livonia Michigan Little League Sports--LJAL

The city of Livonia Michigan with just under 100,000 residents has a few different options for the local youth to play different sports.  The purpose of this blog is to talk about the organization LJAL for just a little bit.  Myself, my children and many friends of mine are involved with this league.  In my opinion I can't say enough good things about this organization, the volunteers and the parents/children involved with the LJAL.  Currently the LJAL is running boys baseball and girls fastpitch softball in both house and travel leagues.  The leagues purpose according to there ABOUT US page is "an opportunity to play organized Baseball, Basketball , Football and Cheerleading. Emphasis is placed on promoting sportsmanship, citizenship, and the physical development of all youths".

  Rotary Park Livonia Michigan

O.K. let's talk about baseball and softball for just a minute.  The LJAL has taken over the Rotary Park ball fields.  They are currently raising money to do a tremendous amount of work to the fields- I heard hopefully going to fence in the fields by years end.  From what I have seen throughout the years the baseball league works something like this:  They have a group of volunteers who give a tremendous amount of their time and energy to running the program.  In baseball/softball/football/cheer-leading you have parents volunteering to do such things as being directors, umpires, coaches, equipment managers, field managers and much more.  If you are looking to move to the area feel free to check this organization out for all of your Baseball, Basketball, Football and Cheer-leading interest.
