Paying it forward ~ Raining Money in Maryland?

Raining Money in Maryland? Well Almost.

Raining MoneyThe Comptroller of Maryland is actively looking for the rightful owners of Unclaimed Property. There is no statute of limitations to claim the property, not real estate BUT cash, insurance proceeds, and other valuables reported to the state as unclaimed.

What if a relative had a safe deposit box filled with cash, never told anyone and you are the only legitimate heir, too good to be true? You won’t know if you don’t search. It’s free to search online and I think it’s a shame for the state to have all this unclaimed property that belongs to someone just like you & I. So go check it out!

Lots of people across Maryland and across the country are in need. If you don’t need or want the property, make a difference with it! Take a few minutes, search the website and maybe you can change someones life with your donation after you claim your property.

If you find your name you read the instructions on the claim form (available online), provide documentation and submit the claim as instructed.

Visit Online Unclaimed Property Search provided by the Comptroller of Maryland or contact The Comptroller of Maryland’s Unclaimed Property Unit at 410-767-1700 or 1-800-782-7383, or email unclaim@comp.state.md.us

Very good information for your consumers, Diane!  It does seem hard to believe that one could forget about being owed money by the state, but you have given a very good scenario how it could happen!  Well done!

Bruce ~ Thanks. It’s not really that they forget that the state owes them but they forget about bank accounts, insurance policies, safe deposit boxes and such that eventually get turned over to the state. : )

Good post Diane. I retreived some cash back from my State after my brother did a check. It ended up some earnest money was due me from a deal gone bad many years back before I was a Realtor.
