The Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte
The Tradition of Hope and Home Continues in Charlotte
The Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte will join ranks as the newest of more than 280 Houses which operate worldwide today. The 'House' will open for families on Friday, May 6, 2011. Ronald McDonald Houses have been offering hope, support and love to families struggling with children’s illness since 1974. The goal of Ronald McDonald House Charities is to improve the health and well-being of children worldwide and serve nearly 3.7 million every year. Ronald McDonald House Charities work globally but, act locally, tailoring programs and services that address the needs of each individual community that it serves. The Ronald McDonald House of Charities' core programs can be found in 52 countries and regions around the globe.
Where a sick child needs specific treatment at a children's medical facility, the new Charlotte Ronald McDonald House will be open to welcome and comfort the families in need. The unity of the families as well as the support staff offers strength to the families, ultimately helping in the healing process. Parents can also better communicate with their child’s medical team, and keep up with complicated treatment plans as needed by staying in the convenient location.
Tours on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 will begin at 9:00 a.m. and go through 7:00 p.m.
