My family and I felt in love with California Pizza Kitchen, the best pizza restaurant, more than ten years ago... Our first experience was in Pasadena, CA in 1998. We loved their tasty appetizers, crunchy best pizzas, and delicious salads. We kept coming back every weekend; it was a sort of family ritual for us. The atmosphere in that restaurant reminds me of a family gathering in a homey kitchen. Also, your table, you can see the chefs preparing food and view pizzas going in and out of oven... It is almost like a show to watch the cooks skillfully preparing our food. While you sit and wait for your meal, you may order some appetizers. In this restaurant, you may see all kinds of people: single one, sometime like to enjoy their pizza at the bar while watching TV; families, who sometimes gather together at a big long table; or just a couple of friends, getting together for a quick lets-catch-up-on-things lunch...
In 2001, we moved to Connecticut. We were kind of sad, letting go of our California Pizza Kitchen “weekend routine.” Can you imagine how happy we were to find out that our favorite restaurant was right here, in Westfarms Mall, in Farmington, just 20 minutes away from our home in South Windsor?
Nedless to say, we have been frequent customers at this CPK for years now. We love that place. It‘s always crowded there, with an atmosphere that is happy and cheerful.
You would think that the owners who started this business would have to be a professional chefs... Not at all. As a matter of fact, on March 27, 1985, attorneys Rick Rosenfield and Larry Flax traded in the courtroom for the dining room. Always having wanted to get into the restaurant business, they pitched their legal pads to serve hearth-baked pizzas. They introduced flavors and tastes from around the world, from Thai to Jamaican Jerk... all on a pizza.
All of their innovative pizzas are creatively designed on delicious crusts and hearth baked to perfection. California Pizza Kitchen, the best pizza restaurant, also serves creative salads, made–to-order pastas, soups, sandwiches, appetizers and desserts. You will find something for everybody in your family there. If you dine there later in the day, you may enjoy a nice glass of wine, or, if you are like me, you can treat yourself to an Asian Plum Martini. Our favorite choices for pizzas are: for my children—best pepperoni pizza, for my husband—B.L.T. pizza (If you like a BLT sandwich, you'll love this! It is made with Applewood smoked bacon and mozzarella cheese, hearth baked, then topped, with fresh sliced Roma tomatoes and chilled chopped lettuce tossed in mayonnaise. Recommend it on honey-wheat dough.); and my favorite is best Wild Mushroom pizza (Cremini, Shiitake, portobello and white mushrooms, fontina and mozzarella cheeses with a wild mushroom walnut pesto, and garnished with chopped Italian parsley. This pizza is also available with chicken).
