Ok maybe not overnight, but I'm not aware of a faster growing region in the Horry County market.  During the big real estate boom developers hurried snatch up all the available property they could.  Soon enough farm fields starting growing houses, a grocery store was added, and now the commericial sector has taken off.  Seventeen major subdivisions are slated to begin in the next few months all located between loris and longs along Hwy 9.  What was once just a peach stand and convience store stop between sleeply little Loris and the bustleing Myrtle Beach has grown into much, much more.  Local's say the Hwy 9 in the new 501 and with all the new growth it is hard to dispute the point.
