Wild Cherries Coffee House in Truckee CA
I feel very lucky that my office is right across from Wild Cherries Coffee House. This place is a local favorite and also a popular lunch place for the Truckee High School crowds. Judging from Wild Cherries rave reviews from Yelp, it is also favored by tourists and out of towners.
The first thing you notice when you walk in Wild Cherries Coffee House is the vibrant scene that greets you. Eclectic artworks on the wall and you can also see a poster of Kristin Krone, the Olympic downhill skier who also happens to be the owner of Wild Cherries Coffee House. On the left wall, there are displays of colorful coffee mugs, T shirts, hats for sale and there are also 2 bookshelves for local businesses to display their brochures and business cards.
For breakfast I usually choose a toasted breakfast bagel with eggs, bacon, tomatoes and sprout or Wild Cherries famous bran muffin (this item sells out quick so make sure you get there early) . The lunch menu is quite diverse with hot panini sandwiches, cold sandwich, salads, wraps, soup, quiches, lasagna....you name it. The homemade vegetarian chili with all the fixings is also a well received dish, especially on those cold snowy days.
So the next time you visit Lake Tahoe Truckee and wonder where to go for good coffee and good food, give Wild Cherries Coffee House a try.
