What's In Your Kindle?

Before my Droid I didn’t read much, other that what I found on line. The first book out of high school that I read was John Grisham’s The Firm and a few of his other books like The Pelican Brief, The Chamber and The Runaway Jury but those were in a span of over three years starting in 1993. I didn’t read another book until someone turned me on to Michael Lewis’ Money Ball about five years ago.

Now I have a Kindle app on my phone and I just love to be be able to pick it up and start to read something that I have started.  I’m never without something to read which makes my goal of six books this year pretty simple.  Now that may not sound like a lot but for a guy who never read consistently it’s a great start.

On my Kindle right now I have The Tipping Point, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and Talk Less Say More.  What a great way to be able to read some great information and be able to reference it with in seconds if need be. Almost like the Capitol One Commercial What’s in your Kindle? If you  read something about purchasing Hinsdale Real Estate and have any questions I’m never too busy for your real estate needs.

I have downloaded some free classics that I never got around to reading in high school and college. Since I was an English and Journalism major, I'm not going to admit which classics I missed, though!

Every once in awhile, I buy a best-seller, just to be "in the know." I also have several versions of the Bible (some of those are free, as well).

One of my most recent purchases was Stefan Swanepoel's "Surviving Your Serengeti." I got hooked on the book through the challenge here on ActiveRain.

I try to make sure I have the Kindle with me anytime I think I am going to be in a waiting room and when I travel. I especially want it with me when I'm at the hospital with my Mom. She has spent way too many days there during the last year, and I can sit quietly by her for hours with Kindle in hand. Finishing a book does not mean I have to go out and find another one. I just turn on the Wispernet and get another one!

I hate doing open houses, but the Kindle helps pass the time.

Love my Droid Kindle ...  it's not my daily read, it's my read while I'm waiting for the oil change, car wash, doctor appointment... it's so great!

Joe -  I LOVE my Kindle and have over 167 books on it !!  I download most for free and convince myself that $9.99 for a bestseller is better than 59.99 hardcover :0)  I too have the classics downloaded and just finished Uncle Tom's Cabin and The Scarlet Letter.  What I keep going back to though are these 3 books:

The Go Giver

Go-Givers Sell More and

It's Your Time: Activate Your Faith and Achieve your Dreams by Joel Osteen.

I always have it with me in the car, in the hospital, and sometimes just parked by the water in the sunshine when the day has become stressful :0)
