Review: Trulia IPad App

Services for Real Estate Pros with PicketReport.com

We just got an iPad for the office and we decided to start checking out the different real estate application available. We downloaded the iPad app from Trulia and started to check it out. As with most applications, it’s extremely user friendly. The basic view includes the area you are currently looking at, with little price bubbles, which show where the property is and how much it’s going for. On the right hand side are results of the properties you’re currently viewing, with a thumbnail picture.

Once you click on a property, it bring up the facts, description, tax and price history and contact information. The property facts include:

  • Year built
  • Days on Trulia
  • Sq. Ft.
  • Lot size
  • Heating
The description is a brief over view of the home telling about the bedrooms, bathrooms, renovations that were done and a little about the location of the property. There is a brief tax and price history which gives the property taxes, improvements and the price change (source is century 21) from the past year.
Back on the map page, there are some really cool features that are available. You can view heat maps of home price, map views (satellite, map or hybrid), boundaries (neighborhood, zip and county), amenities (only restaurants, grocery, banks and gas) and what schools are nearby.
You can also narrow your search what’s for sale by price, bedroom, bathroom, sq. ft., and property type. They also have a For Rent and Sold tabs where you can narrow your search for rentals and find out what’s previously sold in the area.
I would definitely recommend this app to anyone who is looking to get a home or rental search application for their iPad. And I almost got to mention that it’s FREE! We hope this review helped, good luck with your home search!
