Rene Arcemont opened his first Tropical Smoothie Café in September 2008. Tropical Smoothie Café provides healthy alternatives to fast food and is located at 2040 E. Gause Boulevard. "Eat better, feel better" is his mantra.
Smoothies are not all they serve either!! Breakfast is served all day long in the form of wraps, flatbreads and Ciabattas.
For lunch and dinner, their menu offers healthy choices that are very tasty and satisfying. From toasted wraps, bistro sandwiches (served on many types of bread) and grilled flatbreads, each entrée comes with a choice of fruit or chips. I had the Mediterranean Veggie grilled flatbread sandwich last week and it was delicious. It was messy too, as messy as a roast beef po-boy. I think I used six napkins! YUM!!
There are 22 smoothies to choose from including low fat, super charged and super fruit concoctions to try. They are a great choice for eating on the run.
On May 15th Rene is opening a second Tropical Smoothie Café within the Slidell Athletic Club on Gause Boulevard. This location IS open to the public. Stop on by and have a delicious healthy meal.
