Are you a blogger that sells real estate or a real estate agent that blogs? We hope you would describe yourself as the latter.

The blogger who sells real estate is the person who loves to write and build up their reputation. They have time to spend researching industry trends, technology, and news. Their goal is probably be build up a loyal following of subscribers who can’t wait to read their next blog post.

Topics like community events, restaurant reviews, and school ratings are going to lead a prospect to your real estate website, get that person to conduct a home search, and submit their contact information to get valuable local insight from a real estate professional.

IMSD encourages agents to learn about online real estate marketing so they understand how activities like blogging will generate real estate leads for their business, how they’ll capture those leads, and which tools they’re going to use to convert that lead to a sale. Make sure every hour that you spend marketing your real estate business online is bringing a solid return.

Excellent advice for any business.  Although I do believe in a balance of blogging and keeping informed of industry trends and news that informs.

Guess that's why I come on here, find what info I need, get some anwers to questions, blog some, then disappear for a few months....

Just came across the IMSD Active Rain blog.  Nail on the head with "blogger who sells RE" or "RE agent who blogs" -- I was blown away when I researched sales stats of some of the RE bloggers... I want to be the latter, to be sure.

Ditto what Don said. Some who have powerful blogging presence are lagging in the $$ department. While I love blogging, the reason I do it is for business it will generate. I am definitely the latter category.
