Today I called a counselor from the Minnesota Home Ownership Center who works with struggling homeowners to stay in their homes. They have formed a new partnership with Fannie Mae to do just that.
During the course of our conversation, the counselor found out that I work with a number of short sale clients, and the discussion was very informative on both sides.
After talking for a while, she suggested that I teach a real estate section during their "Home Stretch" classes. You can find the link for the Home Stretch classes here. http://www/hocmn.org/en/buyahome.cfn
(For the life of me, I can't figure out why I couldn't cut and past that link, but it worked, finally.)
At any rate, I will have to really work on my presentation materials for the next couple of weeks. I want to be able to show what I know and help those first-time homebuyers get their money's worth.
There is also a ton of information on there for homeowners struggling with mortgage payments and, if you get the chance, check it out. They are in a partnership with Fannie Mae to try to keep the homeowners in their homes.
