Hi PT,
Bellingham Homeless Ministry
Time is rapid! Need to start mobilizing now for June 4th. Here's what I think we have: tents, tables, chairs, cooking grill, trailer, and God's Love.
Here's what I think we need: Prayer, people and high visibility. Materially the only items I can think of is the storage bins for the clothes, and the food each month. I will get you a food budget in the next couple days.
If we can add the ministry to back of the bulletin, have a page on our website, and a continual call for people and used clothing ect. in the bulletin, it will help.
James is an awesome book for servants and a convicting book as well. I love James. Just having faith is like rowing with one oar. If you are going to move you need works. I heard that from a trusted commentator somewhere. Probably Blueletterbible.
I am going to speak with John and Roger. My family and I would like to take one Sunday a month, and bless the people at Orchad Park. I am thinking the first Sunday of every month. It will be a busy weekend, but then I can devote the remainder of the month to providing for my family.
I have had a dream of being a realtor for many years. I put my dream into action five years ago, but it hasn't provided a full time income. I have an interview tomorrow for a $10 per hour job. It will be from 5am to 12 - 30 hours per week. This will put enough money in the funnel to get me down to Bellingham and in the office at ReMax everyday. I am not ready for a full time job. The lifestyle I have had with my family over the last 10 years has spoiled me. I know I can be a good employee, but enjoy being an entrepreneur. I, like you, am not afraid of hours. Maybe someday God will call me into a full time ministry. I hope to be listening when He does.
I pray for your ministry. May God richly bless it with souls of the lost!
I gotta get back to calling expireds. See ya tomorrow morning. God Willing!
