Haley unveils Wal-Mart’s $400M planned investmentThe retail giant plans to create 4,000 new jobs and build, expand and relocate stores across the state. A Wal-Mart spokesman said no government incentives will be involved. The announcement comes after a vote to reject a special tax provision for Amazon. Army officer to direct S.C. workforce departmentMaj. Gen. Abraham J. Turner, an S.C. native and graduate of S.C. State University, has been appointed by Gov. Nikki Haley to lead the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce. He will replace John Finan, who has been serving as interim director. |

Businesses now can file UCC documents onlineA new service offered by the S.C. Secretary of State’s Office allows businesses to file, search and retrieve Uniform Commercial Code documents online. The Web-based application allows users to file, amend, terminate, search and retrieve UCC financing statements. |
