Snow Mountain in Edmonton! When Will it Melt!?! Peg's Pix 5/5/11

I mentioned this in one of my comments last week, and there was an astonished reply by Jeremy Wrenn, about how could snow last that long!?!

Well I guess when there's as much snow as this it will take its own sweet time melting, especially if the weather isn't that warm.

I drove over ther today to get some pix because I think some people might be skeptical and since I never exaggerate I wanted you to be sure I wasn't fibbin'! :D

A local TV station is taking bets to see when it will be gone, and people are talking July...or August!

I have never heard of a snow mountain before, but I guess it's only logical for those a little farther north of me.

Laura, is that like sundae topping nuts or squirrley nuts! LOL! :D

Eric, this is unusual for us too, but we had a whack (that means 'a lot' in Peg-ese) of snow this past winter!

It looks like it could be a local tourist attraction. Not many communities will have a snow mountain in July! Hang in there!

Emily, we already have so many attractions! It probably will become one, since it's maybe 10 minutes from West Edmonton Mall...

Wow Peg,  That is a long time, July or August,  When does it start snowing again up there?

Peg,  That is the ugliest snow mountain I have ever seen... sorry.  Its so icky.  They are worried about flooding here this summer.  The Colorado mountains got hammered.  Some of them have a 500 inch base.  YIKES.  Time for goulashes.

Sally, I didn't really get that close, but as you could see it was a grey and almost rainy day, so it wasn't that warm anyway...

Will, it starts snowing, usually, by Hallowe'en, so you do the math!! :D It's not lookin' good!

Belinda, I love goulash! MMMMmmm! LOL! (just kidding!) Nature does what it wants and we just have to deal with it. Nick Pappas had that awful tornado a block away and you've got the snow in the mountains. Guess those fishing boots might work, but I hope it doesn't come to that! Whaddaya do... *shrug*  Keep smilin'! :)

Hello Peg, that is quite a snow mountain...I thought it was amazing watching the bull dozers push the snow up the mountain.  I don't think it's going to melt before winter.

Progress is slow here...just so much to do, but we all just pick at it day by day...thanks for the mention.

Nick! I forgot to link to your blog, which I shall rectify shortly! Slow and steady, it's the only way it will happen. I'm glad you're okay! :)

Peg, that wasn't necessary, but thank you very much.

Unfortunately there is so much wide spread damage that it is going to take a long while.

Nick, I can't help but think what a close call you had, I'm glad you got a hug from that reporter. You can have a virtual hug from me too! (*) :D

Laura, Rats! I was hoping for anything having to do with a sundae... :D But you're right, squirrelly is more suited to us!
