The Alexander Central Auditorium will be the site of Mayfest, an Entertainment Extravaganza, on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 7 p.m. The evening of art and entertainment will feature students from each of the county’s elementary, middle and high schools. The $10 admission fee will be donated to the Alexander County Educational Foundation.
The evening will include middle school and high school students’ visual arts projects and an elementary and middle school chorus. Individuals and small groups from each of the schools will perform musical selections, dance routines, poetry readings and more.
The event is being assembled to help support the county’s Educational Foundation, which is developing an endowment to assist educators and students with scholarships and other resources.
