Let the Campaigning Begin --- I am Running for Board of Director

Being a active member in my Aurora Board of REALTORS® has been a positive aspect in my life for nearly 15 years. I have made friendships with other REALTORS® and affiliates that will be lifelong, and would not be, had I chosen a different avenue in my career.

In 2001, with only a few full time years in the real estate industry, I decided to "take the plunge" and run for Board of Director VERY new in the industry. For some streak of luck, I was elected to be a Board of Director for three years. If you have never volunteered for this position, you NEED to, it is so rewarding.

Last year I again thought I would want to run for Board of Director, but in the end I decided there were too many distractions in my life, and thought it best if I bow out and support my friends that really wanted to run! That was a great decision!

This year was a whole new story. I thought again of being a part of making huge decisions in a market that most REALTORS® cannot remain full time and support their families. I want to be a part of making decisions to HELP my fellow REALTORS®, keep the fact of being a homeowner important, and be PROUD to be a REALTOR®. I have always been 100% committed to this career, attending NAR conventions, obtaining designations to further my knowledge and to help me be the BEST I can be. The nomination committee looks at all the Realtors having the desire to run, and make the decision WHO gets to be on the ballot. I was selected!

I know my fellow Rainers cannot vote when the time comes, but many of you are actively involved in your Boards, and we ARE all a family in the real estate industry, whether close or far away. Today I attended my first meeting at Toastmasters. I know I am not the best writer, but I have plans of a great speech the day all the candidates will give "their pitch" for a vote at the Board. This year's speech will show a bit more polish than the one I gave years ago! My very good friend Will Hamm and I will run for the Aurora Board of REALTORS® Director.

Please wish me luck.....I want to be a Board of Director for the Aurora Board of REALTORS®!

Have a great day. We have a beautiful sunny morning in Maryland and home buyers will be out to select their new homes. The prices are very attractive and the mortgage interest rates are still low. We even have special programs for first time home buyers.
