Atlanta-based Hooters restaurants has announced that it is offering it's chicken wings for free to Moms that dine in their restaurants on May 8th, 2011. There is a limit of one order of 10 wings per Mom. Does anyone else think this marketing idea is just a little bit odd?

Maybe they will have male servers as a bonus for Mother's Day? Perhaps this is the opportunity for the regular customer to have some bonding time with his mother by taking her to his favorite place for wings? Can you imagine the board room when the marketing person came in and said, "I have an idea for Mother's day!? :)
