Yesterday afternoon I was driving back to Hubert, N C and as I crossed the high rise bridge over Bogue Sound, I made the decision to go back and take some photos of the gorgeous view and share with you today.

I hope you enjoy and appreciate these as I felt I was risking my life standing on the bridge inches (well, it felt that way) from the cars and trucks zooming past me as I clicked away.

Cynthia - It looks lovely. I don't know much about your area, but I'd love to bring my camera and do some exploring someday. Thanks for posting these.

What an interesting lay of the land. I would love an update of the same frames in the deep of Winter. Will you do that for us?

Cynthia-I'm back...and love these beautiful photos you have risked your life for to share with us.  I understand though.  Taking photos is one of my passions and there are moments when I thought, "what were you thinking". My hubby tends to get a little embarrassed as I'm hanging out the sun roof to take a picture (in a parked position).

Hi Tom,
Pack your camera and head on down, the weather is great.  Thanks for visiting and commenting.

Hello Jennifer F.
I agree, we get to visit some many areas of the country without ever leaving home.  How great is that!  Thank you

Hi Lisa,

Cynthia, Those photos are absolutely gorgeous.  You might want to think of putting them in the group "Great Shots) (they sure are) and please put them on localism so everyone can enjoy them!

Hello Jennifer B.
To be very honest, the look of the sound and marsh areas do not change very much with the change of seasons but I will take some photos this winter to compare.  Thanks for your visit and comments.

Hi Julie,
I wish I were more passionate about photography.  The only thing that saves me is a digital camera.  Your passion shows in your photos.  Thanks.

Hello Carole,
Thank you.  As I said to Julie, my saving grace is a digital camera because I am not a good photographer.  Of course, a beautiful scene certainly helps.  I did post in Localism and I'll look into Great Shots.  Thanks for the tip.

Cynthia,

Reminds me of that we have the same thing here. Weston Florida is in the everglades and is referred to as the swamps.:)

Cynthia, all I could think about when reading this was "All that water!"  It's what we miss most in the desert!

Hello Neal,
There are areas of marshes but also the Intracoastal Waterway goes right down the center of area in photo.  Thank you.

Hi Mike,
I am sure Tucson is a wonderful place to live but I really enjoy being near water, I feel so unconnected when I am not.  Thank you for stopping in.

Hello Jo,
Yes, the bridge is very high and the view is incredible and I just wanted to share it was all of you.  Thanks for coming by.

You have to love the real view before the pictures but I will take the pictures as a great back up plan. I just wish I was there to see for my self.

Hi Susan,
Well get in the car and drive on down, you'll be here in about 2 1/2-3 hours.  LOL.  I never tire of the view and the night view when there is a full moon--I don't think I've ever seen anything any more beautiful.  Thanks.

Hi Susan,
Sounds like a plan.  I appreciate your visit.

Gorgeous....., the cool thing is our coast (North Carolina) has dozens of areas to catch shots like these. If I understand correctly NC has something like like 3000 miles of coastline including the sounds and intercoastal waterways. I'm very jealous Cynthia.

Ron,
Yes, our coast is awesome.  I am not sure of the number of miles but it is a lot.  Eat your heart out.  LOL.

Cynthia.... you make me sick. :)  Here I am looking at gorgeous pictures of Bogue Sound (where if I had any sense I would be) but instead I'm freezing my behind off in Alaska.  haha.  Thank God business is great or I would really be sick.

Hi Jesse & Kathy,
Hurry on back to Heaven!  I've never been to Alaska but I understand it is beautiful.  I'm happy to hear business is good for you.

Karen, it is absolutely gorgeous.  This picture below is of the reasons we stay; that was taken in Price William Sound about 35 miles outside of Valdez, Ak. where we keep the boat.  The winters are cold as the dickens but the summers are incredible.   We are working on our snowbird plan though; winters in Oriental/Minnisott Beach and summers in Alaska.
