U.S. Economy Adds Jobs but Unemployment Ticks Back Up

By
Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Anderson Properties TX Real Est. 567774

The rise in the unemployment rate will surely get play in the headlines across the country, but a modest increase can be a reflection that more out-of-work Americans are growing optimistic about the labor market and renewing their search for a job after giving up on prior efforts. The statistics have always been flawed as it does not include the large number of people who actually give up looking for new work. See the link for an article in Forbes.

Thanks for this update as, like Adam, I was convinced otherwise as well!  Like you said, the adjustments and the flawed stats tend to leave us wondering what to believe about the job market these days.  We've been adding jobs here but, again, I don't know whether these figures are shewed or not!!

If you listen to the news, many of the announcers will say that the statistics are certainly flawed.  But, it would be difficult to get an accurate number, since, as you say many gave up in their local market or in the industry they were previously employed in.
