Newspaper - TV - Radio website ads - do they work?

I am ready to launch an online marketing campaign and I have a few questions to offer up to fellow Rainers. AR, google and yahoo have produced some business but I really believe now is the time to own my market ...   mainly because nobody is left....

I am considering the local newspapers websites - my area would be www,baltimoresun.com  www.washingtonpost.com  and some other local papers.... There are some TV and radio stations I am also considering...

another question would be should you automatically be on any of this medias website if you advertise on their main platform such as radio/tv/print etc....?

Then there are other sites such as www.bankrate.com , www.realtor.com   and on and on

I have had success with radio advertising and would be glad to share any experiences with any AR people that have questions.

Lewis,

My career prior to real estate was advertising, so I can offer you what I know. I would DEFINITELY be on the website of ANY medium you are advertising with, and push hard enough, the sales rep will be able to either throw it in for "free" or for a reduced cost, in most cases.  Washington Post may be tough to be had for free, due to high viewership, but the local pubs should be easy.

As you probably know from your own personal success with advertising, the key is to be able to reach the target market you want the right number of times to prompt a response.

Good luck!

Lewis,

In my previous life I lived on Kent Island and worked in downtown Annapolis.  When I sold my home in 2005 we received more feedback/traffic through The Capital and The Bay Times.  I can only imagine that it was due to the fact that the larger papers were flooded with real estate ads.  Not to mention it was a heck of a lot cheaper than the Post and Sun.

Truthfully, I don't know of any mortgage brokers/lenders on the island that do any substantial marketing.  May be a good niche for you to consider since the island is going to sink with so much growth.

Further, I team up with mortgage brokers and banks here in Jacksonville and have found that repetitive direct mail and free seminars are capturing more attention.  Buyers and sellers are so confused about the market and the constant shift in the media attention from the subprime fallout to the slow market.

Good luck!

I think print media is one of the worst investments you can make.  Where do you go for information on other towns real estate?  I believe the web is the answer.
