AVEC Wine And Food in Truckee CA
I just heard about AVEC Wine and Food a couple of weeks ago from one of my friend. We made a date for lunch but then I had to cancel since I had my Toastmaster meeting that day. However being the foodie I am, I keep thinking about the dining place & hope to have an opportunity soon to go and sample their fares.
Well...the law of attraction certainly works here since a few days later a realtor friend from out of town called me & wanted to go for lunch on her visit. Of course I jumped at the chance & suggested Avec Wine & Food. Being French she whoheartedly agreed. In French "Avec" means "With" so the translation is "With Wine and Food".
Walking in the restaurant, we were greeted with a wall full of wine bottles. The atmoshere is relaxed with a long table that can accommodate a big party and some smaller tables for party of two.
There was also a glass display of delectable cheeses and meats. We looked at the menu & had a hard time deciding which scrumptious dishes to order but we finally settled on the Cheese plate which has 3 different cheeses served with marcolar almonds, fruit, crackers & bread. The other dish that we shared is raclette which has oven roasted potatoes with caramelized onion and melted french raclette cheese on top.
There are many tasty treats on display that I will definitely try on my next visit.
That day Avec also has a sampler of 4 different tasting wines for $10. I like one white wine from Spain, it has a refreshing fruity flavor so I bought one to bring home to share with my husband.
Avec Wine and Food is a great addition to Tahoe Truckee dining scene and I am looking forward to many more dining out nights.
