If you live in Highlands Ranch, western Centennial or Littleton - or anywhere else nearby - here is a great find for you when craving salty chips, yummy margaritas and smothered burritos - Los Dos Potrillos. Located in a somewhat hidden location in a Centennial strip mall (just on the other side of County Line Road from Highlands Ranch) - Los Dos Potrillos has surprisingly great food at reasonable prices.
If you are heading out on the weekend, be prepared to wait a bit or you can call ahead to put your name on the list - but even a wait isn't so bad in the bar area. There are many Mexican beers to choose from or a margarita will lessen the wait.
There are not a ton of restaurants in the area, so to have a place so close that is so great is a real treat. My family's favorites consist of smothered chicken burritos, fiesta nachos, and tacos de carnitas. Oh, and treat yourself to the guacamole - worth it! The menu is extensive, with quite a bit of seafood items as well - so there is sure to be something for everyone.
Los Dos Potrillos is located 8251 S Holly Street, on the corner of Holly and County Line Rd. It is open every day from 9 - 9 (they serve breakfast too!) and is definitely a place you should visit once you move to the Denver area.
