The Hemet-San Jacinto Association of Realtors annual bowling tournament and scholarship fundraiser was a great success yesterday, and here are the videos and photos to prove it!

The theme was Wild West, so folks came decked out in their cowboy hats and bowling boots to listen to country tunes and raise money for college-bound high school students in Hemet and San Jacinto.

I don't have the final count yet, but it looks like we raised approximately $2,500 for the scholarship fund. Schools that benefit from the HSJAOR scholarship fund include:

  • Hemet High School
  • West Valley High School
  • San Jacinto High School
  • Alessandro High School/Helen Hunt Jackson High School
  • Baptist Christian High School
  • Tahquitz High School
  • Esperanza High School

We had a great group, as you can see in these slide shows. More and more real estate professionals are bringing their kids to the event, which makes for a lot of fun.

Special thanks to the HSJAOR Affiliates Committee for all their hard work in putting on these events. The affiliates committee includes real estate professionals of all stripes: mortgage lenders, home inspectors, title reps, escrow officers, home warrantee folks and more.  These events have allowed Hemet-San Jacinto Association of Realtors scholarship committee to give away tens of thousands of dollars over the last couple of years to deserving students in our community.

There were great raffle prizes. You could buy raffle tickets, but the fun way to get them was to bowl a strike and yell out "YEE-HAW!"

Here's the Hemet Home Loan Guy's quick interview with Valerie Boone from National Realty Group who scored an incredible 230 points!

Thanks to all the people who contributed, sponsored lanes, bought tickets and volunteered their time to raise money for this great cause and make the bowling tournament an absolute blast!

Joey, nice slide show!  Dang $2500 in one bowling tournament, that is really good!  I'm with a women's group that raises money for scholarships also and our big fundraiser is coming up.  I just posted on it today.  We have a raffle also and silent auction.  Has this been a yearly event? I use to be with another women's group and they are always looking for fundraiser ideas.

Missy: Thanks. I loved seeing pictures of my family, too :)

Marchel: Thank you! Yes, it's a yearly event. It has always sold out completely, but we were short a couple lanes this year (probably because some Realtors in our association are struggling with the slowdown). To raise money we had pizza companies donate food, real estate related companies sponsor lanes for $30/lane, and charged $30 per player. It's a great event. I hope yours goes well!
